that I may truly hear.
I would become an empty room,
free of expectation or belief,
that when you enter I may know you.
May I free myself of self
so that in your presence
I may open up my heart
to all that you can be.
In that moment may our souls touch
in recognition and in reverence.
Let me walk in beauty
that I may see the heart of you.
May I have no greater skill
than to perceive your highest good.
May I become as a mirror in your sight,
a still lake of deep reflection,
and when you talk to me,
may you see your heart reflected there.
If it be true that we shall live
according to our belief,
then let me welcome all your being
and shine its beauty back to you,
that you may bloom a thousand-fold
and know yourself a star.
Let my heart fall silent.
