The still butterfly: A year of tarot-inspired story
2018
For 13 months I drew a tarot card on the first of every month. For that entire month, the card stayed with me, and I let it tell me a story. Here are the collected stories of a year with the Tarot of the Hidden Realm.
The still butterfly is available as a free ePub via Blurb or on Kindle for AU$1.29 at Amazon.

Fragments on the sand
2018
Welcome! You have arrived at a photographic world where secrets hide in plain sight. Walking at the ocean's edge reminds you that the mysterious far outweighs the known. And nothing is ever static; the power of life is restless and ever-changing. Enjoy your visit.

without name
2016
This is the short, fictional diary of a 23 year old girl grappling with the kinds of fundamental questions most of us wrangle with. Fairly typically, she believes herself to be "different" and "alien" in a frighteningly constricting society. Over the course of 30 days she reaches her own unique solution to the puzzle of life.
Inspired by NaNoWriMo, which I didn't have time to even consider in its proper season, I decided to set myself my own 30-day writing challenge. Never having previously written a sustained piece of fiction and still facing time challenges, not to mention a continuing disbelief in my ability to complete the challenge, I decided to make life as easy for myself as possible. If I was about to embark on a perilous and terrifying journey, with failure as the most likely destination, then I would submit my protagonist to a similar odyssey. So, for the month of April 2016 we lived strangely parallel existences, experiencing and reacting to many of the same real-world stimuli.
Is ______ - whoops! I nearly named her, and she'd rather I didn't do that, at least not yet - is she really "me" in "disguise"? Inevitably, she is part of me. And I mean that quite literally. Although changing her context, background and key experiences, I took hold of a facet of myself, name, age and all, and explored what might have happened if she had taken centre stage. Spiritual counsellor Kelly-Ann Maddox (referenced within this diary) has talked about the importance of our many unlived lives, the "who-we-might-have-beens" if circumstances had been different. Well, for 30 indulgent, challenging and blissful days, I got to listen far more closely to one of mine. Together we pushed the boundaries and found out something about who she is - or might have been.
Without name is available via a blog at http://rainfiredreamingwithoutname.blogspot.com.au and is accompanied by a series of short videos about the writing process (displayed in viewing order below). It is also available as a free ePub via Blurb or on Kindle for AU$2.59 at Amazon.

rainfire dreaming
2015
I'm afraid this book works much better in print than it does digitally! But hopefully you'll get the idea...
In 2014 I was lucky enough to commence a journey with an extraordinary group of people, led by Ahneke Greystone of The Greystone Path (see http://www.thegreystonepath.com/). Scattered across the globe, we developed a level of friendship I had not anticipated. Over two years I grew with and through a beautiful sisterhood of women of different ages and backgrounds. Along the way, I took photos and wrote my thoughts. Here is a small collection that reminds me of a journey taken.

Kira-mi
2013
Kira-mi is the story of best friends, reunited for the holidays and trying to pick up where they left off, but discovering that neither of them is quite who they had been before. Seeking a way to reconnect, they set out to solve a mystery.
The story is the product of a short holiday, where I had a few days all to myself and decided to spend them in a library, writing. It was something I had never done before and I wasn't quite sure where to start. So I set out to write a story I could easily complete within the time available, and one that was light-hearted enough that I wouldn't get caught up in "performance anxiety" - hopefully.
Seeking a comfortable safety net, I returned to the books that first enticed me into the world of story, Enid Blyton's "The famous five". But I didn't know any kids these days who had the level of freedom enjoyed by my favourite characters. In the end I came up with my own version of a short mystery.
